Deşi au trecut atâţia ani de când s-a pro­dus nenorocirea, oamenii se cam feresc să vor­bească despre ceea ce au trăit atunci. Nu, nu este o amintire plăcută. Nu îmi aduc aminte să fi avut mari probleme în ceea ce priveşte alimen­tele etc. Blocul nostru nu a fost foarte afectat, deşi unele crăpături se mai pot vedea şi acum, dar mi-e teamă că nu mai îmi aduc bine amin­te şi s-ar putea să nu fie de atunci, ci să se fi lăr­git doar la cutremurele de peste ani. Dacă ar fi să se mai întâmple acum ce s-a întâmplat atunci am fi nenorociţi! Scuzaţi-mi expresia, că sunt femeie bătrână, dar suntem varză! Nu cred că mai suntem capabili acum de o mobili­zare asemănătoare celei de atunci. Şi nu este vorba despre nostalgii ceauşiste aici. Crezi că autorităţile de acum au resurse?!?”
