Criză şi pe Bricul Mircea

Corp şi arboradă din oţel. I se spune „Veteranul”. Are 71 de ani şi a şcolit cam tot ce mişcă în flota românească. Plus un preşedinte de ţară! Ei, nimeni nu-i perfect! Şi-apoi, ştiţi cum e, de unii chiar nu se prinde.

Bricul Mircea a fost construit în perioada 1937-1939, la Șantierele Navale Blohm&Voss, din Hamburg, și a intrat în dotarea Marinei Militare Române la 17 mai 1939. Este o corabie cu trei catarge și 23 de vele. Are 84 de metri lungime, e lat de 12,5 metri și „calcă apa” 5,2 metri. Nava are și un motor Diesel performant, care, atunci când nu bate vântul, asigură o propulsie de 9,9 noduri. În lume mai există doar patru nave de acest tip: Eagle (SUA), Gorch Foch (Germania), Sagres (Portugalia) și Tovarișci (Rusia).

În perioada mai 1939 – septembrie 1944, Bricul Mircea s-a aflat în serviciul Flotei Militare Române. În următorii doi ani a staționat în portul Sevastopol, fiind preluat de flota maritimă a fostei URSS, drept compensație de război. În urma acordurilor stabilite între cele două țări, Mircea se repatriază în 1946. Ca urmare a uzurii avansate, a fost retras din serviciu și transformat în navă-bază, între 1958 și 1965, intrând apoi în reparații capitale. Între 1966 și 1994, bricul a fost în permanență în serviciu, participând în fiecare an la instruirea practică a tuturor promoțiilor de ofițeri și maiștri de marină.

În octombrie 1994 a intrat în reparație capitală, la Șantierul Naval Brăila. Costurile totale ale reparațiilor s-au ridicat la peste șapte milioane de dolari. După opt ani de „spitalizare”, Veteranul, ca nou, a luat-o iar pe mările și oceanele lumii, în marșuri de instrucție. În primăvara anului 2002, o echipă de la Flacăra a însoțit echipajul navei, în probele de recepție. A ieșit un reportaj de-a dreptul marinăresc, pe care îl veți putea citi, în curând, și pe arhiva on-line a revistei.

Sigur că nici Bricul Mircea nu a fost scutit de criză. Voiajul din vara aceasta, de pildă, s-a redus la doar 25 de zile de marș, așa, mai prin vecini, fără mări și oceane îndepărtate. Pentru un ban în plus, Veteranul a intrat și în zona de agrement. În 1–2 mai 2010, 130 de turiști au urcat la bord și au făcut o plimbare în larg. Pentru amatori, trei ore pe valuri, cu o legendă, costă 150 de roni.
