De la Uriah Heep la Deep Purple Pentru cei care simt, gandesc si traiesc rock

Primul impresar al Rollingstonsilor, Giorgio Gomelsky, un adevărat patriarh al rock-ului, spunea odată că un concert în club nu se poate com para cu unul într-o sală de concerte. M-am convins încă o dată că bătrânul are dreptate.

Am asistat pe 16 octombrie la clubul Becker Brau Live Music la cel mai trăsnet concert Uriah Heep, cel mai bun din cele trei văzute anterior în săli de concerte sau spaţiu deschis în Bucureşti. Există o vibraţie specială care ţine de atmosfera intimă şi relaxantă dintr-un club şi poate nu numai atât. Comunicarea trupă – public, şi reciproc, este la o cotă mai înaltă, mai relaxantă, dar şi mai tandră. Artiştii parcă sunt mai aproape de spectatori (nu numai fizic), cât şi invers. într-o formulă nouă, cu un nou toboşar în locul membrului original al trupei – Lee Kerslake, Uriah Heep au debordat o virtuozitate şi un dinamism aparte, oferind un concert de zile mari. Selecţia şi ordinea pieselor au construit crescendo o atmosferă incendiară. Evident, relaxarea şi buna dispoziţie au fost stimulate şi de berea excelentă şi de grătare.

Printr-un noroc, recunosc puţin forţat, am reuşit să ajung înainte de concert în backstage şi să-i abordez pe Deep Purple pentru, de acum mult preţioasele autografe obţinute pe coperta vinilului Deep Purple in rock. Vroiam în primul rând să îl revăd pe Roger Glover pe care îl cunoscusem cu 14 ani în urmă într-o situaţie inedită.

Costello şi Brodsky String Quartet, mă aflam din nou în culise (o manie a mea). în anticamera cabinelor artiştilor, forfota obişnuită de ziarişti şi VIP-uri. M-am aşezat modest într-un colţ dar cu mândria că vedetele sunt prietenii mei. îi cunoscusem cu câţiva ani în urmă pe membrii quartetului la Bucuresti şi am rămas în relaţii foarte amicale cu ei. Lângă mine apare un mărunţel, urâţel, bărboşel şi tare volubil. începuse chiar să mă agaseze cu: „Ce concert mişto, ce muzică formidabilă!… da’ tu eşti artist, ziarist, stai în New York, eşti prieten cu ei ?…”. Politicos, m-am retras de la interogatoriul cicălitorului. Mai târziu, la petrecere, stând de vorbă cu cei de la Brodsky, cicălitorul se bagă în vorbă iarăşi. Unul dintre amicii mei îl întreabă pe mărunţel, urâţel, bărboşel: „Tu eşti muzician, la ce instrument cânţi?”. El zice modest: „La chitară bas”. Amicul continuă: „Ai formaţie ?”. Iar volubilul spune: „Da.. Se numeşte Deep Purple”. Am amuţit toţi cu gura căscată. Nu îl recunoscuse nici unul dintre noi. Era chiar Roger Glover. Ne-am amuzat copios de gafa noastră. Roger Glover şi-a adus aminte exact de această situaţie amuzantă şi am râs din nou. Mi-a semnat coperta şi a fugit pe scenă.

Ce a fost pe stadionul Cotroceni în seara de 31 octombrie, nu poate fi descris decât ca un preţios dar oferit de Modus Production miilor de spectatori prezenţi la concertul Deep Purple, a doua etapă a turneului Rapture Of The Deep. Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Steve Morse şi Don Airey au cântat cu energia de la 20 de ani şi maturitatea de la 60. O trupă închegată şi matură în perfect unison, au oferit un grandios concert de rock simfonic şi de pură trăire emoţională. Momentul cel mai emoţionant pentru noi a fost includerea într-un potpuriu a Rapsodiilor enesciene. Iar momentul care ar putea fi ironic interpretat ca şi cel mai nostalgic pentru unii, şi singurul care a deranjat puţin acest concert sărbătoare, a fost acela în care sistemul PA a căzut, astfel piesa Smoke on the water a sunat ca un disc de vinil uzat la maximum şi zgâriat, aşa cum reuşeam cu greu să găsim un exemplar în urmă cu treizeci şi ceva de ani. Noaptea s-a lăsat cu un frumos lullaby pentru noi în bis cu Hush şi Black Night.
