Revoluţia văzută prin ochii unui copil

Tehnica prin care este narat filmul e asemănătoare cu cea folosită în romanul De ce fierbe copilul în mămăligă: toate întâmplările sunt povestite din perspectiva unui fete de 9 ani. Modul acesta de a povesti ne arată cât de paradoxală și de întoarsă pe dos este existența umană, mai ales dacă este presărată cu tragedii.

Bineînțeles, multe dintre întâmplările dramatice sunt încărcate de umor, care apare din inocența și naivitatea copilăriei, deși, uneori, copiii se pot dovedi mai perspicace în a sesiza ce e în neregulă. Temele abordate, o groază de altfel, sunt temperate de stilul degajat: fundamentalismul islamic, boala, închisoarea, suferințele amoroase sunt toate privite cu seninătate. Animația este absolut încântătoare. Desenul este alb-negru și esențializat. Vizionarea acestei pelicule este obligatorie, indiferent de vârsta privitorului.
