Musicalurile sunt în zilele noastre aproape o raritate, iar atunci când apare unul ca Repo! eşti tentat să-l creditezi cu mai mult decât este. Am crezut că voi vedea un nou The Rocky Horror Picture Show, un musical plin de ironie şi cu mult umor negru, doar că nu a fost aşa. Probabil că punctul cel mai slab al filmului este lipsa unei coloane sonore interesante sau originale.

Deşi subiectele cu care jonglează filmul sunt demne de interes: îmbunătăţiri estetice, chirurgie ­plastică şi nu nu­mai, exhibiţionism (prezenţa lui Paris Hilton fiind extrem de amuzantă şi, poate, plină de autoironie) şi voyerism, ele nu sunt bine închegate. Inserţiile de prezentări în stilul benzilor desenate, grotescul  dat de expunerea aproape pornografică a sângelui şi organelor umane, tot kitschul producţiei transformă filmul într-un carnaval prost construit. Creatorii peliculei îşi doreau un bâlci al viciilor umane dar prea plinul de grotesc, lipsa de subtilitate şi actorii terni în­groapă acest ambiţios proiect.
