Potrivit unui studiu recent, 73% dintre români îşi doresc un conducător cu mână forte, care să nu-şi bată capul cu Parlamentul şi cu alegerile.
Atunci de ce a mai fost nevoie de vărsarea de sânge din decembrie 1989? De ce am mai dat jos un dictator şi l-am împuşcat după o judecată sumară? De ce am mai răsuflat uşuraţi la gândul că nu mai trebuie să închinăm zilnic osanale celui mai iubit fiu al poporului? De ce ne-am mai bucurat că am scăpat de cozile la alimente, de frigul din case, pe care acesta ni le impunea? De ce am sărbătorit faptul că, în sfârşit, putem spune în gura mare ceea ce gândim? La ce ne-a folosit ieşirea din imperiul fricii?
De ce mai facem parte din Uniunea Europeană, printre state pentru care democraţia şi libertatea sunt sacre? De ce am aderat la NATO, care garantează şi apără astfel de valori? Nu cumva apartenenţa noastră la aceste organisme e doar de faţadă? Nu cumva doar dintr-o conjunctură internaţională am ajuns implicaţi în proiecte care nu ne convin şi pe care nu le pricepem? De ce nu renunţăm la ele? Doar pentru că ne place să călătorim fără viză aproape pe întreg continentul? Doar pentru că ni se îngăduie să ne stabilim şi să muncim în locuri în care nu credeam că vom pune piciorul vreodată? Doar pentru că acolo câştigăm mai mult decât în ţară?
Şi de ce să mai organizăm alegeri care costă o groază de bani? De ce să mai avem un Parlament care înseamnă şi el cheltuieli enorme? Numai pentru a face pe gustul a 27% dintre noi, care cred în continuare în visul celor ucişi în urmă cu aproape douăzeci de ani? O majoritate să se supună minorităţii? De ce? Nu cumva criza economică de la noi este însoţită de o altă criză, mai gravă, care priveşte ceea ce ne propunem să facem cu viitorul nostru?
