NEAGU DJUVARA: A afirma că abdicarea regelui Mihai, în decembrie 1947, a fost un act de trădare e curată aberaţie

Consider „ieşirea” preşedintelui Băsescu, provocată de o întrebare a domnului Cristoiu, ca aberantă şi nedemnă de un preşedinte al Republicii. În aprecierea unor grave momente din trecutul ţării al cărei preşedinte te afli pe moment, n-ai voie să vorbeşti după simpatii sau antipatii. Trebuie să judeci faptele şi evenimentele cu responsabilitatea rangului pe care-l ocupi: a afirma că abdicarea regelui Mihai în decembrie 1947 a fost un act de trădare e curată aberaţie. Tancurile sovietice înconjurau reşedinţa regelui şi Petru Groza, devenit instrumentul imbecil al poruncilor lui Stalin, ameninţa pe suveran că vor fi împuşcaţi tinerii susţinători ai lui care erau arestaţi. În asemenea postură, nu există altă ieşire, reprezentanţii Statelor Unite şi Marii Britanii fiind total neputincioşi în a-l susţine. Altă soluţie nu era şi regele îşi rezerva dreptul să denunţe public, odată ajuns în Occident, violenţa ce i se făcuse, recuzând astfel abdicarea ce i se smulsese.

Despre diferenţa dintre acţiunile regelui Mihai şi ale mareşalului Antonescu, m-am exprimat de nenumărate ori: Antonescu n-a avut înţelepciunea generalului Franco, care l-a luat lângă el pe viitorul rege Juan Carlos; l-a ţinut pe tânărul rege Mihai în totală necunoştinţă a actelor sale de guvernare, astfel încât el nu poate fi azi ţinut co-responsabil de gravele erori ale auto-proclamatului Conducător. Intrarea noastră în război alături de germani, la 22 iunie 1941 (regele a aflat-o prin radio BBC!!!) a fost un gest normal şi indispensabil pentru recuperarea Basarabiei şi Bucovinei, dar trecerea Nistrului, contrar sfaturilor insistente ale şefilor „partidelor istorice” şi a exemplului finlandezilor, care n-au depăşit graniţa lor, a fost o mare greşeală, continuată cu obstinaţie şi după intrarea Statelor Unite în război, şi după dezastrul de la Stalingrad, şi până la prăbuşirea frontului germano-român din Moldova la 20 august 1944. Nici atunci acceptarea lui verbală de a semna armistiţiul n-a fost clară şi francă. V-o spune cel care a fost trimis la Stockholm la 23 august cu mesajul de a se relua negocierile cu sovieticii, misiune care nu putea sosi mai devreme de 48 de ore, când o telegramă cifrată n-ar fi luat decât câteva minute. Consider că în acele luni Antonescu pierduse cu totul simţul realităţii.

urss era în aceeași măsură agresor, nu o dezculpabilizați.
România nu s-a unit pentru Germania, ci contra URSS!
