Între 30 august și 26 septembrie s-a desfășurat o nouă ediție a Festivalului și concursului internațional „George Enescu“
În București, dar și în alte orașe ale țării – Brașov, Cluj, Iași, Sibiu –, în sălile de concert au fost prezente mari orchestre ale lumii și interpreți care au încântat un public numeros. Trupe de operă și balet faimoase au evoluat în fața unor spectatori avizați și dornici să se bucure de reprezentații la cel mai înalt nivel artistic.
Pentru o lună, sunetele pure ale muzicii nemuritoare din toate timpurile ne-au îngăduit să uităm de manelele care ne agresează ființa de la vecinii de apartament, din restaurante, din mașinile care circulă cu geamurile lăsate. După două-trei ore petrecute sub cupola Ateneului sau în Sala Palatului, în compania dirijorilor Maxim Vengherov, Horia Andreescu, Cristian Mandeal, Vladimir Ashkenazy și a ansamblurilor pe care le-au condus, gâlcevile politice de pe plaiurile mioritice și-au dovedit, încă o dată, inconsistența și ridicolul. După audiția Oedip-ului enescian, capodoperă a muzicii universale, modul în care a debutat anul de învățământ – școli încă în paragină, manuale rufoase, murdare, redistribuite elevilor, programă școlară năucitoare, amenințări cu greva din partea cadrelor didactice – a devenit mai suportabil.
În patru săptămâni au defilat prin fața ochilor noștri adevăratele modele pe care trebuie să le urmăm – oameni însetați de frumos și armonie. Iar cei care s-au dus să-i admire și să-i aplaude sunt, la rândul lor, modele.
Câtă vreme toți aceștia există și își cresc copiii în cultul adevăratelor valori, România mai are încă o șansă, iar respingerea vedetelor de duzină, a mocofanilor, a impostorilor din toate domeniile, mai are sorți de izbândă.
