Paradisul florilor de mină

Frumuseţi aproape ireale, scoase din străfundurile pământului. Forme şi culori deosebite, irizaţii stranii, pline de mister. Aproape că te întrebai dacă nu cumva visezi. Astfel a arătat expoziţia cu flori de mină de la Muzeul Naţional de Geologie.

Expoziţia „Flori de mină” a fost realizată în colaborare cu Muzeul de Mineralogie Baia Mare, care a adus la Bucureşti, în această toamnă, circa 80 dintre cele mai reprezentative eşantioane din multitudinea de „flori de mină” descoperite în regiunea Baia Mare.

Trandafiri mici şi gingaşi prinşi între grămăjoare de gheaţă, muguri de brânduşe abia ieşite din pământ, ciuper- cuţe, corali în culori vii sau palide, cu luciri misterioase. Nici una dintre aceste flori nu are parfum, dar forma şi culoarea te vrăjesc. Nu, nu ne aflăm într-o grădină botanică sau în vreun parc sofisticat, ci suntem la Muzeul Naţional de Geologie din Bucureşti.

Amenajată în holul muzeului, în vitrine bogat luminate, expoziţia a beneficiat de atenţia a mii de vizitatori, tineri şi bătrâni. Ea a fost prilejuită de împlinirea a 20 de ani de la înfiinţarea Muzeului de Mineralogie din Baia Mare, care a luat naştere pe 6 noiembrie 1989. Cele 80 de flori de mină prezentate publicului la MNG fac parte din colecţia de aproximativ 700 de eşantioane minerale de acest gen, colecţie care aparţine muzeului din Baia Mare. Florile de mină provin din munţii Oaşului sau din Gutâi, din minele Turţ, Ilba, Nistru, Săsar, Herja, Baia Sprie, Şuior, Cavnic şi altele.

Multe dintre florile de mină prezentate cu acest prilej au fost selectate astfel încât să seadreseze atât publicului larg, prin estetica deosebită (cuarţ, galenă, marcasită, sfalerit, gips, calcit alb, galben sau roz, rodo- crozit, baritină albastră sau roşie, spectaculoase stibine etc.), cât şi specialiştilor (piese de valoare mondială cum ar fi scheelit-ul, whewhellit-ul sau sfera de calcit negru). De o rară frumuseţe şi bogăţie, florile de mină prezente în expoziţie aproape le-au eclipsat pe cele deţinute de muzeu în colecţia permanentă.

Cum au fost create aceste minunăţii din subsol care se apropie atât de mult de operele de artă? Ba poate, pe unele dintre cele făurite de om, chiar le şi întrec! Geologii numesc aceste aglomerări de cristale clustere, care de obicei au un singur vârf şi o bază comună. Ele s-au format în golurile rămase în interiorul filoanelor (zăcămintelor de minereuri – n.r.), denumite geode, unde, în anumite condiţii de formare şi dezvoltare a mineralelor, au crescut dinspre pereţii geodei către interiorul acesteia. Întregii operaţiuni de formare a florilor de mină i-au trebuit câteva milioane de ani. Aspectul cel mai straniu legat de formarea eşantioa- nelor de cristale îl reprezintă faptul că geologii nu pot prospecta geodele în care se formează aceste frumuseţi cristaline. Şi încă ceva! Deşi unei flori de mină îi ia milioane de ani să se formeze, acest gen de formaţiune minerală este considerată de către oamenii de ştiinţă drept o formaţiune tânără. Tinere sau bătrâne, indiferent de cum ne raportăm la ele, florile de mină sunt daruri minunate ale adâncurilor pământului pentru orice iubitor de frumos. Florile de mină expuse la MNG au reprezentat în mare parte exemple de eşantioane tipice pentru minele din care au fost extrase. Unul dintre eşanti- oanele tipice de rodocrozit (carbon de mangan) de culoare roz intens şi cu luciu mat, prezent în expoziţie, a fost cel de la Cavnic.

Rodocrozitul este rar pe plan mondial, iar la Cavnic se găsesc cele mai frumoase flori de mină din acest mineral. De asemenea, stibina (sulfat de stibiu), mineral rar pe plan mondial, a fost şi ea extrem de prezentă în expoziţie, prin eşantioane de la mina Baia Sprie, unde se găsesc cele mai spectaculoase astfel de flori de mină din lume.

„Floarea de mină” este un eşantion mineral recoltat din subteran, monomineral sau format din mai multe minerale, care posedă calităţi estetice deosebite, datorită concreşterii cristalelor mineralului sau mineralelor, a culorilor, a formelor, a dimensiunilor de excepţie a unor cristale componente, calităţi care, în totalitate, fac ca eşantionul să fie bine individualizat faţă de altele.
