O livadă conservată la borcan, o livadă pe care o poți lua cu tine, o madlenă proustiană pentru viața personajelor de după tăierea livezii. Și o viziune regizorală inedită pentru istoria spectacolelor cu Livada… lui Cehov.

Livada de vișini a fost reprezentată scenic de-a lungul timpului sub forma unor pomi înfloriți accidentați de stâlpi electrici și de semnele unei noi civilizații care are nevoie de vile de vacanță (la Andrei Șerban), un tunel lung (la Gheorghe Harag) prin care personajele lui Cehov se sting odată cu vânzarea la licitație a livezii, un lan de grâu (la Lucian Pintilie) unde personajele încearcă să se regăsească, o casă cu pereții scorojiți și gata să se prăbușească (la Vlad Mugur), personaje îmbrăcate în alb camuflate în albul livezii și frunze de vișini care cad peste spectatori (la Giorgio Strehler), o grădină – privită prin fereastră care trezește amintiri dureroase (la Otomar Krejca).
La 150 de ani de la nașterea lui Cehov, Felix Alexa propune o altă viziune asupra Livezii… pe scena Teatrului Național din București. În dulapul vechi de o sută de ani, transformat în depozit, sunt așezate zeci de borcane cu compot de vișine. Prezența borcanelor sângerii (nuanță superbă creată de luminile discrete din spatele fiecărui borcan) pe toată durata spectacolului, fac din livadă un martor prezent (și nu doar un pretext) la dramele și neîmplinirile personajelor.
Veți vedea la TNB o Ranevskaia melancolică, temătoare, puternică, surprinzătoare în interpretarea precisă a Maiei Morgenstern. Irina Movilă în Varia și Ioana Anastasia Anton în Ania au inocența și frumusețea personajelor lui Cehov. Marea surpriză a distribuției este Marius Manole. Este o surpriză nu pentru că actorul ar fi dezamăgit cu vreunul dintre personajele interpretate până acum, ci pentru că Lopahin – în toate montările pe care le-am văzut sau despre care am citit – este mult mai în vârstă, mai puțin cizelat, mai puțin sentimental, mult mai arogant. Lopahin – la Felix Alexa – este îndrăgostit de Ranevskaia. Mai mult decât atât, Lopahin o îmbrățișează pe fosta lui stăpână, este fâstâcit și stângaci în prezența ei.
O altă supriză a Livezii… lui Felix Alexa și un moment foarte reușit al spectacolului este scena balului. Personajele robotizate dansează printre borcanele mari cu compot de vișine, în dulapul cel vechi de o sută de ani, dansează pe trasee clar definite, cu mișcări lipsite de armonie… un dans mecanic al sufletelor rănite.
