Blestemul lui Brucan

În 1990, retrăgându-se din poziţia politică în cea de guru, Silviu Brucan – fost ideolog al PCR – scandaliza naţiunea afirmând că în România sunt mulţi „stupid people“ şi că ne vor trebui 20 de ani ca să învăţăm regulile democraţiei. Probabil că alesese generic cifra, aşa cum – tot el, după cum s-a spus – aruncase cifra de 60.000 de morţi în revoluţie, menită să justifice încadrarea de genocid. Iată, se împlinesc 20 de ani. Vă lăsăm pe dv. să apreciaţi dacă a avut sau nu dreptate.

Am fost în Tratatul de la Varşovia şi am ajuns în NATO. Am fost în CAER şi am ajuns în UE. I-am aşteptat pe americani şi acum chiar au venit. Am visat să pot ieşi din ţară şi s-a rezolvat. Am sperat să pot citi orice carte apare dincolo, am sperat să văd orice film apare dincolo, am sperat să ascult orice muzică apare dincolo şi iată că pot. Mi-am dorit să merg pe un stadion al Turneului celor 6 naţiuni şi mi-a ieşit. Am vrut să studiez peste hotare şi am studiat. Am aşteptat cu disperare momentul în care toate alegerile să fie numai la mine în mână şi să nu fie condiţionate de ideologie, stat sau partid. Momentul a venit, dar am învăţat că alegerile nu sunt niciodată toate la îndemâna mea. Am fost revoltat şi acum sunt cinic, am fost entuziast şi acum sunt echilibrat, am fost convins de şansa colectivităţii şi acum cred în soluţia individuală, am fost implicat şi acum caut căi de ieşire, am crezut că bunăstarea nu este fundamentală şi acum nu mai cred, am dispreţuit confortul şi acum îl apreciez, am fost convins că răul ţine de sistem, acum îl găsesc şi la persoane, am simţit mereu că binele va triumfa în finalurile glorioase şi am învăţat că nici măcar acolo nu se întâmplă aşa. Am trăit timpuri istorice şi încă nu-mi dau seama dacă acesta este un lucru bun sau nu.

Am realizat încă de la început că revoluţia a fost furată. E clar că a existat un complot din partea securităţii şi a partidului comunist care a vrut să facă un Glasnost à la Gorbaciov. Dar, în afară de asta, este la fel de adevărat că a urmat o revoluţie populară de dimensiuni uriaşe. Iar complotiştii, când au văzut că riscă să fie depăşiţi de evenimente, au venit cu această invenţie diabolică a teroriştilor lui Ceauşescu. Ne-am dat seama imediat că e vorba de un matrapazlâc de proporţii uriaşe şi criminale. Nu ni s-a arătat nici un terorist, în schimb au murit o mie de oameni.

Părerea mea e departe de prognosticul lui Brucan. Nu e vorba de 20 de ani, e vorba despre 100-120 de ani. Am făcut o teză de filosofie speculativă a istoriei şi am emis o părere, de altfel asemănătoare cu cea a marelui istoric britanic Arnold J. Toynbee, şi anume: la schimbările de civilizaţii – trecerea de la comunism la capitalism a fost o schimbare de civilizaţie – îţi trebuie între 100 şi 140 de ani, adică trei sau patru generaţii. Nu mă gândesc numai la politicieni, ci la mentalitatea întregii ţări. Când eram departe de ţară credeam că românul aşa e el făcut de veacuri, să plece capul şi să alunece năpasta pe spinarea lui, dar am descoperit că de această dată năpasta nu a alunecat deloc, ci l-a îmbibat. 50 de ani de comunism au pătruns în mentalitatea românilor fără ca să îşi dea seama cineva. E foarte curios cum a ieşit ceea ce e mai rău din poporul român.

Clasa politică e slabă deocamdată. Oamenii pe care îi cunoaştem în societate şi care ar avea un cuvânt de spus nu se bagă în politică. Au lăsat politica unor politicieni care se duc în faţă ca să se căpătuiască, să aibă puterea în mână. Sunt destul de pesimist după 20 de ani.
