Pentru admiratorii acestui mare actor care se numeşte Johnny Depp, (Charlie şi fabrica de ciocolată, Donie Brasco, Don Juan DeMarco, Piraţii din Caraibe… etc.), acest film este, fără îndoială, derutant…!

Şi asta cu toate că: e o ecranizare a renumitului muzical scris şi compus de Stephen Sondheim; scenariul îi aparţine lui John Logan (Gladiatorul!); regia e semnată de Tim Barton (Batman, Atacul marţienilor etc.); că, în film, însuşi Johnny Depp cântă „de la cap la coadă“ câteva melodii şi o face absolut spectaculos!; că, în fine, pe peliculă mai apare – chiar şi dacă într-un rol secundar – acel interpret englez ciudat de vulgar, devenit celebru peste noapte în urma „turcfilmstanului“ său produs cinematografic numit Borat (şi care se pare că a rămas dator cu câţiva buni dolari unor familii de ţigani dintr-un sat românesc, ce i-a folosit başbuzucului drept nu doar pasageră, dar şi extrem de ieftină locaţie!), pre numele său de „vedetă“: Sasha Baron Cohen (?!).

Suntem în zona unui thriller?! Ba chiar… horror?! Fireşte că suntem!… Interpreţii cântă tot timpul?! Fireşte că e şi un „muzic-hool“ (iar Johnny poartă un soi de „perucă-vâlvoi-incendiar-brumată“ – fireşte, băi, că poartă: ce-aţi vrea, să fie chel?!).

Şi-atunci, de unde Doamne!, afurisita asta de senzaţie că – în acest film – ceva nu se leagă…?!
