Film: Restul e tăcere

În anul 1912, în Bucureşti, avea loc premiera primului film artistic de lungmetraj românesc – Independenţa României – a cărui proiecţie dura circa două ore (enorm, pentru acele vremuri!) şi în realizarea căruia se implicaseră nu doar Societatea cinematografică a actorilor Teatrului Naţional cât şi Casa Regală, Ministerul de Război ş.a. În urma unui incendiu din 1917, a fost salvată o singură copie a filmului – iar primele documente referitoare la producţia sa au fost descoperite, din praful arhivelor, abia în anul 1985…

Filmul regizorului-scenarist Nae Caranfil este o amplă şi originală „reconstituire vizuală“ a anilor în care a fost realizat acel veritabil Monument al Culturii Române, întruchipată cu umoru-i caracteristic şi din diverse unghiuri de vedere (dintre acestea, ultimele, nu toate fiind cele mai fericite!).

Dacă imaginile filmului sunt absolut superbe (operator: Marius Panduru) dacă decorurile lui Călin Papură, sau costumele Doinei Levinţa sunt cu totul remarcabile; dacă interpretarea actorilor este fără cusur (mai ales cea a acestui Marius Florea Vizante, în rolul Grig – şi care-şi spală, astfel, toate păcatele comise în rolul de „gazdă“ a ultimei Gale a premiilor GOPO – ei bine, toate aceste performanţe sunt oarecum „subţiate“ de întregul filmului; este cel puţin bizar cum un regizor precum Nae Caranfil a aplicat o pastă extrem de groasă asupra unor momente-cheie ale propriului său scenariu, trimiţând la aparent-comice dispute etnice, la scene gratuite de sex, sau la prelungi dialoguri, fără consistenţă, despre artă…!

Poţi muri, literalmente, de râs la câteva momente (precum acel triplu „atac al redutei“ – o bijuterie de umor cinematografic!) – dar nu poţi fi impresionat nicicum – dimpotrivă! – când, la intervale, ţi se servesc lungi citate din Hamlet…!?
