În 2009, Philips a introdus primul televizor cu proporţiile unui ecran de cinematograf. Anul acesta, Philips face încă un pas înainte introducând televizorul Cinema 21:9 Platinum, primul televizor 3D cu proporţiile ecranului de cinematograf. Upgrade-ul puternic de performanţă include toate inovaţiile privind calitatea imaginii la care v-aţi aştepta de la seria Philips 9000 premiată, inclusiv tehnologia LED, 400 Hz şi motorul de procesare a imaginilor Perfect Pixel HD, adunate într-un ecran şi mai mare Full HD de 58″ cu un raport lungime/lăţime de 21:9. Complementat cu Ambilight Spectra 3 (pe trei laturi ale ecranului: laterale si sus), Cinema 21:9 Platinum este primul televizor din lume care oferă o experienţă de vizualizare 3D realistă, la fel ca la cinematograf. Are un ecran de 58″ cu un raport lungime/lăţime 21:9, astfel încât filmele în format 2.39:1 să umple în totalitate ecranul. 3.999 de euro.
